Flower Care Instructions Immediate Care: As soon as you receive your bouquet, unwrap the stems and immediately place them in a clean vase filled with fresh, cool water. Prep the Stems: Trim: Use sharp shears to cut 1-2 inches off the bottom of each stem at a 45-degree angle. This allows for maximum water uptake. Clean: Remove any foliage that would fall below the waterline in the vase. Leaves sitting in the water will rot and contaminate the water, shortening the flowers life. Water Placement: Water: Change the water daily or at least every two days. If you received flower food, use a fresh packet with each water change. Location: Display your flowers in a cool room, out of direct sunlight, heating vents, or drafty windows. Special Note for Protea: Protea and other exotic, woody stems are very hardy. Ensure they have a deep, clean cut before placing them in water. They naturally hold up well, but appreciate cool water and a daily misting of the flower head (optional).
